What? A news entry on this page? It's been like 8 years!
Yes, it has. I just wanted to acknowledge that this project died. As time went on, Fishman and I, Exide, seemed to be able to spend less and less time together. At a certain point, it was almost entirely on me to initiate anything whatsoever, which is, as I'm sure you're aware if you've ever been in a relationship like that, extremely tiresome. Even so I do still occasionally reach out with ideas, but nothing ever comes of them. For those who don't know, we did actually almost finish The Dumb Spy. The very last scene was the only one we never filmed. Now and then I have thoughts of putting together some kind of animatic for the last scene just to release the whole thing as a "what would have been" kind of situation, but who know knows if I'll ever get to that. The computer which I used to edit on had its OS upgraded and now no longer runs Final Cut Express, so it would be quite a task to make heads or tails of the old files.
At the end of the day, I'm glad we did this thing. I sure learned stuff, and maybe will have a chance to apply it again in the future. Thanks to the handfull of people who cared.

Several things have happened since last time. URLs have changed, Exide no longer has braces, and Fishman has once again expressed intrest in finishing The Dumb Spy. I (Exide) have been thinking of revamping this janky news page to use some kind of blogging software, 1) so it is not to hack-job and 2) so it is easier to post updates. A blog just seems logical for that. In other news, continuity in The Dumb Spy is almost completely out the window. Perhaps we should have seen that coming? Anyhow, things are chugging along slowly, and eventually we'll get something out of it.

The previously mentioned project did not happen. However, we have not stopped thinking up new ideas, and, in fact, we have several cool projects in varoius stages right now. These include a music-related series, some more animations, and a few Vidbit-type-things.

In the meantime, while we can't film Dumb Spy, we have started work on a little short thing that takes place in the past. 1943, to be presice. There will be large piles of dirt, bunkers, and maybe even an explosion.

So progress on The Dumb Spy has been temporarily halted. Why? School. Fortunately, Winter Break just started and we may be able to get a bit done on some of the indoor stuff.
Another inconvienience is that Exide now has braces, and that's another thing to add to our list of continuity issues. Oh, well. The episode will probably be done by next summer. We sure hope so. We have a few more outdoor things to shoot here and there, plus the entirety of the last scene, and we need to wait till there's leaves on the trees again. Just sit tight (or loose, whichever you perfer) and don't get ambushed by jackalopes. We'll finish as soon as possible.

As you can tell if you are reading this, which you are, Ostrich Studios now has a website! Fair warning right now though: it is HIGHLY EXPIERIMANTAL, and still in development. Still, pretty cool, eh? All hand-coded by Exide. Speaking of that, these articles are kinda hack-job in the way they're coded. Heh, heh. They'll probably get a redo, and I'll put an article up about that when I do it.
